Islamic Law in Modern Courts, by Haider Ala Hamoudi and Mark Cammack
Dear all:
Apologies for my long absence in writing, but my position as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs has proven more time consuming than I anticipated. Just a brief note to say the very first casebook that deals deeply with how modern state courts actually adjudicate Islamic law is now part of the Aspen Casebook Series, coauthored by Mark Cammack and me. Iraqi and Indonesian courts are explored at length, but we have a number of other landmark cases in the book as well, including the Nasr Abu Zayd apostasy case, Lina Joy, and Symphony Gems, among others. Happy reading!
